Senior Test Engineer

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Engineer is responsible for implementing and developing custom hardware and software for wafer and packaged part test used in production and product characterization of advanced MEMS products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Support manufacturing wafer and custom package-level testing - responsible for enhancing test systems for volume ramp-up of MEMS silicon sensors.
• Design and implement cost-effective test systems and processes for custom test systems.
• Prepare test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and provide specifications and procedures for new products.
• Develop project plans for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.
• Responsible for setting the test parameters and will support testing of custom products.
• Key engineer will develop tests and processes for assembly and test subcontractors.

    The Test Engineer has the responsibility to document programs, test systems, and test procedures. Further, the Test Engineer needs to support Failure Analysis and Product Engineering in matters related to the testing of the MEMS devices. This engineer plays an active key in the efforts for quality improvement in the framework of SMI’s TS16949 quality management system.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• A BS degree in Engineering is required.  An MS is desired.  
• Test engineering experience is required.  Custom Test system development and support is desirable.
• Hands-on experience in hardware and software development is required.
• Testing of analog and/or mixed signal circuits is required.
• Ability to draft, publish and present test results and conclusions in customer-level reports is required.
• Ability to work effectively with others is absolutely required.
• Semiconductor/sensor/MEMS testing is highly desired.
• Working knowledge of LabView, Visual Basic and C is highly desired.
• Testing of electro-mechanical systems is highly desired.
• Working knowledge of statistical analysis tools used to examine test data is highly desired.
