SMI has a history of expertise in low pressure sensing devices and high-quality manufacturing. The company’s low pressure know-how is responsible for its rising market share in critical automotive, medical, and industrial applications. Its attention to quality has also enabled it to engineer unique new products, including ultra-small sensor, a new “harsh media” pressure die for industrial applications, a single-die co-integrated pressure sensor, custom pressure sensors and miniature sensors in standard SOIC packages.
SMI is one of the few companies with a high-volume automotive grade MEMS production facility in Silicon Valley. Since 2009, SMI has invested several millions of dollars in state-of-the-art MEMS equipment. While we do not operate as a foundry, SMI still provides custom technology development and grants access to its fab. SMI has a history of successful collaboration with various start-ups with products ranging from photovoltaics (PV) and solar to bioMEMS and Energy Harvesting applications.
