Field Applications Engineer (FAE), Germany

Summary of Position

The FAE opportunity is an important role in the sales organization and offers the right candidate the opportunity to make valuable contributions with outstanding earning potential. The selected candidate will work from a home office in Germany, reporting directly to the Director of Sales, EMEA.

 

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with Sales team and authorized distributor to identify new lead/opportunities
  • Clear all customer and authorized distributor’s technical, specification and performance, as well as quality questions related to SMI products
  • Frequent travel to different customer R&D locations to promote SMI products, including pre-sales stage and solving technical problems
  • Analyze customer application detailed requirement and provide the best fit solution
  • Technical liaison between customer and factory, work closely with HQ application engineering team to get the right technical answer to all customer technical inquiries
  • Help customers design their circuit and POB layouts related to SMI products
  • On-site trouble shooting technical support to customer
  • Provide on-going product training and target application/market training to enable all distributors to sell SMI products
  • Report customer activity, progress, issues to regional sales leader and HQ management
  • Update SFDC and submit all needed reports on a timely basis


Essential Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering degree (minimum)
  • More than 3 years experience in electronic engineering
  • Experience in piezoresistance pressure sensor related R&D and technical support job experience (preferred)
  • Experience with amplifier, ADC, MCU related R&D and technical support
  • Good understanding of automotive, medical, industrial and home appliance markets
  • Excellent communication skills with internal colleagues and external customers
  • Good written and fluent oral English skills
  • Aggressive in driving for results by leveraging all resources, proactive
  • Willing to take challenges and work independently
  • Team player, self-motivated and driven, take initiative
