IntraSenseTM is an “In Vivo Sensor” which enables measurement of pressure throughout the organ systems (e.g. the cardiovascular or nervous system) and therefore in different fluids (e.g. blood or cerebrospinal fluid). Determining the pressure accurately helps physicians make critical decisions related to diagnosis or treatment. Direct pressure measurement is performed by sensors in minimally invasive medical devices. The pressure sensor is mounted to the tip of a catheter tube, delivering results without a delay in time. SMI’s IntraSenseTM line of products represents an advanced piezoresistive MEMS sensor with wire connection suitable for easy integration into invasive medical equipment.
The Medical Device Assembly & Test Engineer supports the ramp and on-going production of the IntraSense product line at SMI. He/she will be responsible for optimizing processes for manufacturability, high yield and excellent reliability for the medical market.
As this is a new ramping product line there are exciting opportunities for future growth of the team available. The Engineer will work in collaboration with the Production and R&D team to develop also future high yielding products, optimized for automation and high volume manufacturing. He/she will play an active role in quality improvements in the framework of SMI’s IATF16949 and ISO13485 quality management system.
